IGC Civic Leadership Award

The IGC Civic Leadership Award, presented by the Institute for Governance and Civics, recognizes three FSU undergraduate students each year who demonstrate exceptional leadership and commitment to enhancing the university community. Recipients receive $2,000 and are selected for embodying civic and constitutional values, addressing challenges through collaboration, and inspiring positive change on campus.

Criteria for nominees and recipients are determined by the Institute of Governance and Civics.

President's Undergraduate Humanitarian of the Year Award

The President's Undergraduate Humanitarian of the Year Award is a prestigious award that recognizes students who exhibit a tremendous commitment to service. Each College selects one student to be the Humanitarian of the Year. Students are then recognized at an awards luncheon hosted by President McCullough and receive $200 that is donated in their name to the nonprofit agency of their choice. Finally, the student who best exemplifies commitment to service is named the President’s Undergraduate Humanitarian of the Year at Leadership Awards Night and an additional $1,000 is given as a donation to the nonprofit agency of their choice.

Criteria for nominees and recipients are determined by the Center for Leadership & Service. The deadline for this 2025 award nomination has passed.

University Health Services Student of the Year Award

The University Health Services Student of the Year Award is granted to one student or group of students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership and achievement in promoting health issues within the campus community. University Health Services selects an individual or team who demonstrates sustained involvement in health related activities promotes a Healthy Campus, and are registered Florida State University students (undergraduate or graduate) in good academic standing.

Criteria for nominees and recipients are determined by the staff of University Health Services.

Global Citizen Award

The Global Citizen Award honors two outstanding students who have actively engaged in intercultural initiatives on campus or abroad and who have exemplified leadership in promoting and supporting a global community among Florida State University students. Photos of winners of the award will be added to the Global Citizen Award wall in The Globe along with the previous 21 Global Citizens.

Students can be nominated by faculty, staff, or their peers. Nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • Exemplify leadership in fostering a global community at FSU
  • Support diverse cultures on campus or in the community by contributing to a welcoming environment
  • Be currently enrolled during the spring semester at FSU and in good academic standing
